2007 Open House Slide Show
Click to view a slide show of the Maynard-Pearson House "open house" and the 2007 Home Tour. The virtual tour of the MP House provides a glimpse of historical Christmas decorations in the style of the early 1900's and some the town's history. The slide show may take 15-30 seconds to load depending on the speed of your internet connection. It was prepared by Mack Thorpe, a member of the Society and co-owner of The Rusty Bucket, one of the local shops that helps to support the Society.

The Rusty Bucket - Stylish and affordable decorations for the home and items of interest representing the local community and history. Located at 104A N. Salem Street in the historic downtown district. The friendly staff of the shop will provide you with a warm and cozy shopping experience that you won’t find anywhere else in the area.
New Hope Valley Railway - Visit the New Hope Valley Railway and experience the thrill of riding the rails and see, hear, and feel history. The NHVR site, located south of Apex between Bonsal and New Hill, NC, includes the restored train, the North Carolina Railroad Museum and monthly ride days in season from May to December with activities, themes, and events for visitors of all ages. Visitors can charter train rides, schedule operate-a-loco, or have a birthday party in a historic caboose.
Upcoming events
October 11, 2008 (Saturday) , 3:00 PM - 5:00 PM. The annual membership picnic will be held at the Maynard-Pearson House. Either fried chicken or bar-b-que, bread and drinks will be furnished by the society. Members are asked to bring a covered dish.
Since the society is purchasing meat for the dinner, please try to let us know if you will attend. Contact Judy at 363-3268 or annmiles2006@yahoo.com. If you can't lets us know ahead of time just come anyway!
